The WVIL camera is a concept camera envisioned by Artefact’s award-winning design team. The patent-pending WVIL system takes the connectivity and application platform capabilities of today’s smart phones and wirelessly connects them with interchangeable full SLR-quality optics.
I really like the idea. Not so much for the lens on a smartphone, but the design thinking on the interface.
Voilà un petit jeu amusant en photographie: les presets de rendu.
Vous prenez une photo classique (ici un photo d’un des étangs de Tervuren, prise hier après-midi), puis vous vous amusez avec Adobe Lightroom ou autres merveilles de logiciels photo. Et vous obtenez des résultats complètement différents, des ambiances étonnantes. Les goûts et les couleurs feront le reste.
Le petit Tips&Tricks du jour: vous trouvez sur le net, des tonnes de sites de presets, comme par exemple www.presetsheaven.com, et dans ce cas ci une librairie de 28 presets de Chris.
La photo original, sous exposée, fin de journée.
Un rendu classique, qui la ré-équilibre, tout en lui faisant clairement perdre son côté fin de journée.
Un aspcct film vieilli intéressant.
Ici c’est carrément délavé, ca perd pas mal quand même.
On accentue, les noirs sont noirs, les blancs sont blancs, sur l’eau ca fait ressortir les vagues, ca claque. Un superbe preset pour la tempête en mer à mon avis.
Ca, c’est l’original en mieux 😉
Mon rendu préféré, avec l’herbe verte au fond qui ressort, j’adore.

Week-end à la mer du Nord (un truc typiquement belge) pour les quelques jours après le Nouvel-An.
Avec une météo un peu particulière: très froid, avec du brouillard et un peu de soleil. Ca paraît étrange, mais c’est plutôt pas mal du tout pour prendre des photos. Alors j’en ai profité pour faire quelques essais. C’est toujours sympa de faire des essais, surtout que je ne suis pas mécontent du résultat, mais bon, à vous de juger.

We know that companies are following what people are saying about them on the Internet. Many different sources are now available: Facebook groups, Twits, Blogs, Videos and so on.
Even if I knew this, I was still amazed by Adobe yesterday evening. I posted the three following twits about Adobe Lightroom 2.0, around 9,00 PM.
Some hours later, I was followed by this new Twitter member called Lightroom. That was fast!
I’ve played with Adobe Lightroom this morning.
It’s an impressive tool. But you need some good hardware. I did try it a year ago on my PC which was too slow to run it nicely. Now that I got my new Mac Pro, it works fine, even if some of the tools aren’t real time yet. I’m running Mac Pro with 4GB RAM, 2 Quad Core 2,8 Ghz and it’s not real time. Crazy, huh?
I first tried Aperture but, I think it doesn’t stand the comparison with Lightroom. It is still slow, and even if the interface is quite nice, it’s not that user-friendly.
I still have a lot of trouble getting the right configuration for Lighroom in terms of: Automatic photo importation, Export settings, Web Publishing. I will try to post in this later.

Philipp Lenssen at Google Blogoscoped noticed today that Google announced that it will be shuttering its Hello photo sharing and chat application next week. Hello was an instant messenger-like desktop photo sharing application that made it easy to send photos to friends via an encrypted connection. The Hello.com web page has been replaced by a shut down notice and the service will cease to work on May 15th.
It’s probably the first time since I’m using webtools that I’m disappointed by a service shutdown. I’ve been using Picasa’s Hello to share pictures with my family for the last three years now. It works like a charm. My parents and in-laws were using it as well. Picasa & Hello were extra-user-friendly and smoothly integrated. It was a sort of one-click image sharing.
Of course, there are other ways to share images: Web galleries (including PicasaWeb), Instant Messaging. But the real deal with Hello was that the pictures sent to you were automatically added to your own Pictures Database. Not even a 1-click, … a 0-click.
